Carneiro's place on the Chelsea bench is under threat with immediate effect and she is not expected to be pitchside for Sunday's trip to Manchester City. It is understood Carneiro will remain as Chelsea’s first-team doctor, but she will not attend training sessions, games or enter the hotel - raising a huge question mark over her future at the club. If Carneiro deems her position untenable then she may well quit after Mourinho said she did not "understand the game" after she tried to treat Hazard in stoppage time of Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Swansea. Carneiro responded on Facebook by writing: "I would like to thank the general public for their overwhelming support. Really very much appreciated." Carneiro is not the only member of Mourinho's staff to have their working arrangements changed, but the timing of the changes will raise questions after the spat between the pair at the weekend. "I wasn’t very happy with my medical staff," Mourinho said on Saturday after Carneiro treated Hazard, who was then forced to leave the field until the next phase of play. "You have to understand the game – even if you are a kit man, doctor or secretary on the bench. "You have to know you have one player less and when you go to the pitch to assist a player you must be sure the player has a serious problem. I was sure Eden didn’t have a serious problem. "He had a knock and was very, very tired but my medical department were impulsive and naive to leave me with eight outfield players. In a counter attack we were worried as we had two players less," continued Mourinho.
