The weekend of the unexpected.
It started with Chelsea vs Westbrom, none of us expected Chelsea to drop points at least not after
losing to Newcastle six days earlier but they
did and it could have been another defeat if not for a 96th minute controversial penalty and we thought that was all. Then came the Tottenham game and just like their London neighbours they dropped points, all 3 points actually. Not surprising though, considering they have been wasteful in front of goal,9 goals from ten round of matches(prior to the Newcastle game) and it took them an average of fifteen shots on goal to get a goal. They had 31 shots on goal against Newcastle, yet no goal due to their profligacy and the keeper of the opposition. Tim Krul was awesome in goal,he made a total of fourteen saves but Tottenham were wasteful as well and that pretty sums up their season so far.
What happened to the blue side of Manchester? Considering history this result is not a surprise but on current form it is. They put 7 goals past Norwich is their last league outing, they were fantastic in the champions league against Cska Moscow. So I bet u didn't see this one coming as well. But Man city did it again, they dropped points when they really shouldn't have..
Man u vs Arsenal: it was a balanced game, Aresnal could have gotten a point out of this but they didn't and just like their north London neighbours they lost and did so by the same score margin. You might want to say this past weekend is a weekend no London fan will want to remember even Fulham were annihilated by Liverpool. Until Arsenal hold their own against known title contenders I don't see them lifting the trophy at the end of the season. I know they are topping the league but it must be said that among the title contenders Arsenal have had the easiest fixtures so far. So far so good Southampton are proving to be the revelation of the season but how long can this scintillating form continue? Just like anything in the English premier league, only time will tell.
